YAGER & MAY
Once upon a time, there was an architect named Rachel Simons who gathered her family and belongings in England and moved to Fredrikstad, Norway. She would create the most beautiful things with her bare hands.
One day she decided she wanted to make soap. Not just any other soap, but all natural, handmade soap – each bar with a story attached to it. She was fascinated by Norwegian nature, old fairytales and folklore, and she gave the soaps names like Nøkken, Tre Bukkene Bruse and Nordavinden (The Knucker, Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Northern Wind).
She called her company Yager & May. Page Black had the honor of designing the logo and the artwork for the packaging. Keeping in mind Rachels architectural background, the monogram logo creates an impression of a 3D space where you could fit a bar of soap. Photographer Craig Jackson brought the soaps deep into the dark, Norwegian woods and took some amazing shots. In November 2014 Yager & May launched its web shop and the fairytale has just begun…
